Recap: Oroville Tigers vs. Durham Trojans
The Oroville Tigers couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell 38-29 to Durham on Tuesday. Oroville lost against Durham in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 51-43 score last time.
Oroville's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Serenity Miller, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 steals, and Leila Jackson who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 6 steals.
Durham's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Payton Santos, who scored 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clare Osbon, who scored 12 points.
Oroville's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Durham, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Oroville will face off against Enterprise at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Enterprise focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday. As for Durham, they will square off against Dixon at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
