Basketball Recap: Bloomsburg Panthers vs. Warrior Run Defenders
The Bloomsburg Panthers won the last time they faced the Warrior Run Defenders, and things went their way on Saturday too. Bloomsburg walked away with a 38-27 win over the Defenders. The win made it back-to-back wins for Bloomsburg.
Bloomsburg's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brynna Zentner led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and 14 rebounds. Cassie McGinley was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Bloomsburg is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season. As for Warrior Run, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bloomsburg will take on the Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. North Schuylkill presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Panthers in Pennsylvania (the Spartans are ranked 95th, while the Panthers are ranked 249th). As for Warrior Run, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th.
