Soccer Recap: Del Norte Takes a Loss

After flying high against Valley on Tuesday, Del Norte came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Hope Christian Huskies by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. One reason for the loss might be Del Norte's aggressive play style: Yorman Garcia and David Taboda Casteneda were both handed yellow cards.

Del Norte's goal came courtesy of Aboraihan Naziri, who's now up to 22 this season.

Del Norte has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Hope Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-7-1 record this season.

Del Norte does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hope Christian, they will square off against Albuquerque Academy at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
