Softball Recap: Dowling Catholic Takes a Loss

Dowling Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the North Polk Comets. If the Maroons were looking for revenge after losing 5-1 to the Comets when the teams met back in June of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Dowling Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for North Polk, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 17 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-5 record this season.

Dowling Catholic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 5-1 defeat against Dallas Center-Grimes on the 3rd. As for North Polk, they have also already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Ankeny on the 3rd.
