Liberty Common was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 69-64 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lyons Lions. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2017.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Grayson Clay, who went 11 of 20 on his way to 28 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daegan Thayer, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 boards.

Caleb Christiansen was his usual excellent self, shooting 6-for-9 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten steals for Lyons. Christiansen's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Oz Lauren also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Liberty Common's loss dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Lyons, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Liberty Common will face off against Frontier Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Liberty Common is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. As for Lyons, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 78-53 victory against Front Range Christian on the 17th.
