Football Recap: Bishop Kenny Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from James Davis III and Gavin Hawkins

Bishop Kenny lost against Beachside back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Crusaders fell 35-31 to the Barracudas. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bishop Kenny's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Gavin Hawkins, who threw for 194 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and James Davis III, who picked up 68 receiving yards and one score.

Bishop Kenny's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Beachside, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Kenny will welcome Parker at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The match will give the Crusaders their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Beachside, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Tocoi Creek at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
