Softball Recap: Lewis-Palmer Comes Up Short

Lewis-Palmer extended their losing streak to 15 on Wednesday, dropping them down to 2-17. They lost 13-3 to the Palmer Ridge Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 16-0 back in September.

Nicole McClintock made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

As for Palmer Ridge, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Considering they have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Palmer Ridge's side, Pam Boyarko spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for Boyarko.

On the hitting side, Corinna Arellano was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Rielyn Bentz, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double.

Coincidentally, Lewis-Palmer and Palmer Ridge will both be playing Cheyenne Mountain the next time they take the field. The Rangers will host the Red-Tailed Hawks at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bears will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
