Basketball Recap: Design Tech Piles Up the Points Against Mid-Peninsula

Design Tech came tearing into Thursday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They really took it to the Mid-Peninsula Dragons for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-10 win. Design Tech has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Design Tech to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jewel Wilson, who went 6 of 13 en route to 17 points. The contest was Wilson's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Chow, who went 5 for 9 on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Design Tech smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive matches.

Design Tech pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Mid-Peninsula, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Design Tech will square off against Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mid-Peninsula, they will head out to square off against Kehillah at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
