Basketball Recap: Redwood Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lilliana Faumuina and Amaya Rivas

Redwood Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 37-22 to the Convent of the Sacred Heart Cubs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 68-35 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2016.

Redwood Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Amaya Rivas, who posted nine points, and Lilliana Faumuina, who put up six points.

Redwood Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Convent of the Sacred Heart, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Redwood Christian and Fremont Christian will face off at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. As for Convent of the Sacred Heart, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Urban at 5:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
