Basketball Recap: Laguna Beach Gets the Win

Laguna Beach won the last time they faced University, and Fiona McCormick did her part to make sure it happened again. The Laguna Beach Breakers strolled past the University Trojans with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 48-30 thanks in part to McCormick, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. She has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last four times she's played.

When it comes to explaining why University lost, don't look at Ai Miyano. Despite the final result, she posted five points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Holmes, who had four points.

Laguna Beach's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for University, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-14.

Laguna Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-42 win against Irvine on the 14th. University has also already played their next matchup, a 44-41 victory against Northwood on the 14th.
