It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Pojoaque Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 32-31 photo finish over the Robertson Cardinals. For the Elks/Elkettes, this counts as revenge for the 51-0 victory the Cardinals walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Joshua Gonzales had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 142 yards and two scores on only 15 carries, while also throwing for 174 yards and a pair of TDs on only 13 passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (132.2). Pojoaque Valley's leading receiver Joaquin Baca was Gonzales' top target yet again, picking up 162 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
