Basketball Recap: Bell Gardens Comes Up Short

After flying high against Montebello last Friday, Bell Gardens came back down to earth. The Bell Gardens Lancers were outmatched by the Mark Keppel Aztecs and fell 53-15. While losing is never fun, the Lancers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 918th, while the Aztecs are ranked 197th).

Bell Gardens' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 5-16. As for Mark Keppel, they pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bell Gardens will welcome Schurr at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Mark Keppel, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alhambra at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
