Preview: Westview vs. Del Norte
The Westview Wolverines will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against the Del Norte Nighthawks at 7:00 p.m. Neither Westview nor Del Norte posted many goals in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.
On Wednesday, Westview kept a clean sheet against San Marcos. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 1-0 win over the Knights. Sanaa Bebal had the honor of scoring the game-winner for Westview.
Meanwhile, Del Norte's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight defeat. They suffered a tough 5-1 loss at the hands of Mission Hills.
Westview now has a winning record of 8-7-4. As for Del Norte, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9-5 record this season.
Westview skirted past Del Norte 1-0 in their previous meeting back in January. Does Westview have another victory up their sleeve, or will Del Norte turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
