Football Recap: Capitan Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Capitan took on Santa Rosa on Friday. The Tigers were beaten by the Lions 50-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 48-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

David Chavez was his usual excellent self, rushing for 144 yards and three scores on only seven carries for Santa Rosa. Chavez's longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Josh Cordova also helped with four TDs in total.

Capitan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Santa Rosa, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Capitan wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 48-6 loss against Legacy Academy on the 9th. As for Santa Rosa, they have also already played their next matchup, a 47-0 win against Estancia on the 10th.
