Volleyball Recap: Pearl Pirates vs. Neshoba Central Rockets
Pearl was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Neshoba Central Rockets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pirates of the 2-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2021.
The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-8.
Pearl's offense was headlined by Gabby Coleman and Zoe Shellwood, who picked up two kills apiece. They got some help from Izzy Watts and her four assists. Finally, Coleman was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.
Pearl's defeat dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Neshoba Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-4-1.
