Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a  season-high score is even better (just ask West Johnston). They claimed a resounding  35-7 win over the Western Harnett Eagles. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  victory against them.
 West Johnston didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Julian Geddie and  Kaden Trotter.
 Despite the  defeat, Western Harnett saw an underclassman step up: sophomore  Creig Matthews picked up 83 receiving yards and one  TD. Matthews showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 58 yards.
West Johnston's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Western Harnett,  they are  on  a  six-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 2-7.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming  matchups. West Johnston will square off against South Johnston at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. The Wildcats will need to watch out since the Trojans have now posted at least 31  points  in their last four games. As for Western Harnett, they will face off against Union Pines at 7:30  p.m.  on Friday. The Vikings' defense has only allowed 7.6  points per game  this season, so the Eagles' offense will have their work cut out for them.
