Basketball Recap: Elite Takes a Loss

Elite played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Westlake Charter Explorers , falling 53-10. The Eagles have struggled against the Explorers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Elite lost, don't look at Kendo Cook. Despite the final result, she posted three points and ten boards. Cook has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last three times she's played.

Leading Westlake Charter to victory were Amiliana Moore and Anthonia Nwaukoni. Moore had ten points and eight steals, while Nwaukoni made all 5 shots she took for 10 points and seven boards. The dominant performance gave Moore a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Emiko Binger, who put up six points.

Elite's defeat dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Westlake Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-4.

Elite wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 62-2 loss against Sacramento Adventist on the 20th. As for Westlake Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 28-22 defeat against Stone Ridge Christian on the 17th.
