Soccer Game Preview: South El Monte vs. Mountain View

The South El Monte Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Mountain View Vikings at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.

South El Monte is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Gabrielino just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 5-1 to the Eagles. South El Monte was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 4-0.

Meanwhile, Mountain View kept a clean sheet against Arroyo on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Knights by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Mountain View's victory bumped their record up to 4-7-3. As for South El Monte, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-4.

South El Monte came out on top in a nail-biter against Mountain View in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. The rematch might be a little tougher for South El Monte since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
