Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Knights vs. Marion County Eagles

The Centennial Knights will head out to face off against the Marion County Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Centennial can't be to happy about their upcoming road game considering what happened when they opened their season on the away from home on Monday. They came up short against Roswell, falling 7-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Centennial got a good showing from Tilden Reams, who pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Centennial saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Chen, who went a perfect1-for-1 with one stolen base.

Meanwhile, Marion County unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They lost 8-2 to Shaw on Monday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
