Softball Recap: Lambert Triumphs

Lambert came out on top against East Forsyth on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Longhorns took their match against the Broncos 7-2. For the Longhorns, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 victory the Broncos walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Faith Doolen made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Doolen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Payton Yi, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Caitlin Goodwin was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Lambert now has a winning record of 2-1. As for East Forsyth, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Coming up, Lambert will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Cambridge at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for East Forsyth, they will head out to face off against North Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
