Preview: Sotomayor Wolves vs. Torres Toros        
        
		
            
 Sotomayor has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will  take on the Torres Toros at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. Sotomayor's defense has only allowed 29.4  points per game this season, so Torres' offense will have their work cut out for them.
 Sotomayor posted their biggest  win since December 1, 2023 on Wednesday. They blew past Elizabeth 40-10 at home. The  victory was just what Sotomayor needed coming off of a  49-17 defeat in their prior  match.
 Sotomayor relied on the efforts of   Angie Mendoza, who  scored 12 points, and   Hailey Deniz, who  scored 14 points.
 Meanwhile, Torres didn't have too much trouble with Maywood Academy on the road   on Wednesday as they won  32-17. The  win was just what Torres needed coming off of a  49-27 loss in their prior  game.
 The  win  got Sotomayor back to even at 7-7. As for Torres, their victory  ended a four-game drought on the road  and  puts them at 7-12.
 Sotomayor didn't have too much breathing room in their  matchup against Torres  when the teams last played  two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a  26-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sotomayor since the  squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
