Basketball Game Preview: Big Valley Cardinals vs. Butte Valley Bulldogs

Big Valley is 0-10 against Butte Valley since February of 2019 but things could change on Wednesday. The Big Valley Cardinals will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on the Butte Valley Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Big Valley is headed into Wednesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They were outmatched by Burney and fell 67-39. One positive for the Cardinals, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Butte Valley ended up a good deal behind Tulelake on Tuesday and lost 54-40.

Big Valley will have to contain Madison Wilson as she made an impact in Butte Valley's last game. She dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 boards. The dominant performance gave Wilson a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Morgan Anderson, who posted 11 points.

Butte Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Big Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Big Valley suffered a grim 49-27 defeat to Butte Valley in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Big Valley was down 32-11.
