Softball Recap: Locust Grove Comes Up Short

After soaring to 16 runs the game before, Locust Grove was a bit more limited in their game on Thursday. They lost 13-1 to the Union Grove Wolverines. The loss continues a trend for the Wildcats in their meetings with the Wolverines: they've now lost five in a row.

Locust Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Union Grove, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Locust Grove will head out to take on McDonough at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Warhawks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.6 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Union Grove, they will head out on the road to square off against Hampton at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Hornets have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season.
