Recap: Del Oro Golden Eagles vs. Lincoln Trojans
On Monday, Del Oro ended up a good deal behind Lincoln and lost 46-28.
Del Oro's loss came despite strong showings from Ysabella Von seipler and Shaelyn Parry. Von seipler scored 3 points along with 14 rebounds, while Parry scored 7 points along with 6 rebounds. Von seipler has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.
Lincoln got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Riley Baquiran out in front who scored 11 points along with 4 steals. Baquiran continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lailah Leonard-roberts was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals.
Del Oro's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Lincoln, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Del Oro will face off against Cosumnes Oaks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Cosumnes Oaks is ranked 267th, while Del Oro is ranked 251st). As for Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Monte Vista at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Monte Vista will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
