Football Game Preview: Moriarty Pintos vs. Taos Tigers

The Moriarty Pintos will head out on the road to face off against the Taos Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Moriarty was handed a 44-point loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over Grants. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Pintos have posted since August 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, while Taos put up plenty of points on Friday, the same can't be said for Kirtland Central. The Tigers blew past the Broncos 40-0. Considering the Tigers have won three contests by more than 29 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Taos' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.7 points over those games. As for Moriarty, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Moriarty and Taos were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, but Moriarty came up empty-handed after a 23-22 defeat. Can the Pintos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
