Calvary Christian extended their winning streak to 14 on Thursday, bumping them up to 14-0. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings a 7-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

As for St. Anne-Pacelli, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. Having soared to a lofty 19 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

For St. Anne-Pacelli's part, Bella Mcbride spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and four unearned) runs on eight hits. Mcbride has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Calvary Christian will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Columbus at 10:00 a.m. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they will head out to challenge Brookstone at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 8.5 runs per game this season.
