Volleyball Game Preview: Boyd Yellowjackets vs. Ponder Lions + How To Watch

Boyd and Ponder are an even 5-5 against one another since September of 2021, but not for long. The Yellowjackets will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Boyd sitting on eight straight victories and Ponder on five.

Boyd won the last time they faced Pilot Point and Bryleigh Wallace did her part to make sure it happened again. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Bearcats on Tuesday thanks in part to Wallace, who had 13 digs and two assists. She has been hot for a while, having posted 13 or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Boyd took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-10, 25-5.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ponder duked it out with Whitesboro on Friday. The Lions blew past the Bearcats 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-5, 25-14.

Boyd's win bumped their record up to 24-9. As for Ponder, their victory bumped their record up to 21-10.

Boyd took their win against Ponder in their previous meeting back in September by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Yellowjackets repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
