Soccer Game Preview: Alexander vs. East Paulding

The Alexander Cougars will venture away from home to square off against the East Paulding Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alexander will be strutting in after a victory while East Paulding will be coming in after a loss.

Alexander took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Their defense stepped up to hand New Manchester a 9-0 shutout. Considering Alexander have won five matches by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, East Paulding didn't have quite enough to beat Villa Rica on Friday and fell 4-3. East Paulding have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alexander's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 24 goals over those seven contests. As for East Paulding, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.

Alexander might still be hurting after the 5-1 loss they got from East Paulding in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Alexander was down 3-0.
