Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Atlanta). They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Brunswick Wildcats on Monday, sneaking past 25-24. For the Hornets, this counts as revenge for the 21-15 victory the Wildcats walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Atlanta got a massive performance out of Lexie Ross, who got on base in four of her six plate appearances with four stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. Ross continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. London Smith was another key player, getting on base in four of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.
Atlanta kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Atlanta's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-9. As for Brunswick, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
As of now, neither Atlanta nor the Wildcats have any future games scheduled.
