Recap: Sierra Timberwolves vs. Oakdale Mustangs
The Sierra Timberwolves were the 47-28 winner over the Oakdale Mustangs when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Sierra received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 42-25 to Oakdale. Sierra's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Despite the loss, Sierra saw an underclassman step up: Mya Everett scored six points along with six rebounds and two blocks. Everett is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janessa Barnes, who scored two points along with three steals and three blocks.
Sierra's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 11-9. As for Oakdale, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Sierra will be playing at home against Manteca at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Manteca presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Sierra in California (Manteca is ranked 162nd, while Sierra is ranked 460th). As for Oakdale, they will head out on the road to challenge Central Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
