Basketball Recap: Windber Takes a Loss

If Windber was feeling good fresh off their 50-21 takedown of North Star last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Windber Ramblers fell to the Homer-Center Wildcats 38-33. The game marked the Ramblers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Windber lost on Friday, don't look at Kaylie Gaye. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points and four steals. Gaye has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Maggie Manippo, who put up four points and five steals.

Windber's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Homer-Center, with the win, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 1-6.

Windber wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 49-44 loss against Blacklick Valley on the 28th. As for Homer-Center, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 50-25 defeat against Richland on the 28th.
