Baseball Recap: Chattahoochee Finds Home Field Redemption Against Roswell

There's no place like home for Chattahoochee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Roswell Hornets 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Cougars: when they faced off against the Hornets on Wednesday, they had to take a 7-6 defeat.

Drew O'Neill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Chattahoochee is 4-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Chattahoochee let Gavin Kirkman and Noah Brady run wild. Kirkman went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Brady went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. That's the most hits Kirkman has posted since back in March.

Chattahoochee's victory bumped their record up to 11-16. As for Roswell, they moved to 20-9 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Chattahoochee nor the Hornets have any future games scheduled.
