Basketball Recap: Del Campo Comes Up Short

Del Campo lost against River Valley back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Del Campo Cougars took a hard 53-34 fall against the River Valley Falcons. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcons 12-8 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Del Campo lost, don't look at Zenallah Hatcher-Simmons. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds. Jordyn Effrig was another key player, putting up five points and 14 boards.

Del Campo has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matchups, which has put a noticeable dent in their 7-19 record this season. As for River Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-13.

Del Campo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 57-19 loss against Twelve Bridges on the 13th. As for River Valley, they have also already played their next contest, a 41-26 defeat against Placer on the 13th.
