Softball Recap: Oelwein Extends Winning Streak to Four

Oelwein took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Sumner-Fredericksburg, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Huskies sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 win over the Cougars on Thursday. Eight seems to be a good number for the Huskies as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

The win was the fourth in a row for Oelwein, bringing their record up to 16-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Sumner-Fredericksburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

Oelwein didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 8-0 loss against Wahlert on the 12th. Sumner-Fredericksburg does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
