Softball Recap: Dougherty Takes a Loss

Dougherty couldn't beat Pelham on Wednesday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Trojans lost 13-5 to the Hornets. The loss continues a trend for the Trojans in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost three in a row.

Jazlyn Turner made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

Dougherty's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Pelham, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dougherty will welcome Bainbridge at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pelham, they will host Early County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
