Softball Recap: Elgin Extends Winning Streak to Three

Elgin waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Noble Bears by a score of 5-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-3 two weeks ago.

Kynslie Maples spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ella Melton was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Kynli Garrett, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Elgin's win bumped their record up to 23-9. As for Noble, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elgin will face off against Enid at 11:30 a.m. on Friday. As for Noble, they will challenge Shawnee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
