Basketball Game Preview: Meyersdale Red Raiders vs. Windber Ramblers

Meyersdale is 0-10 against Windber since February of 2018 but things could change on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Meyersdale Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Windber Ramblers at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Meyersdale is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Southern Fulton on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Meyersdale came up short against Southern Fulton, falling 47-27. The contest marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Windber ended up a good deal behind Berlin Brothersvalley on Thursday and lost 55-36. While losing is never fun, the Ramblers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 71st).

Meyersdale will need focus on slowing down Kaylie Gaye, one of several Windber players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Angel James, who had four points and four steals.

This is the second loss in a row for Meyersdale and nudges their season record down to 2-6. As for Windber, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Meyersdale was taken down by Windber 59-29 when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Meyersdale avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
