Softball Recap: Westminster Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Westminster's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They never let the Boulder Panthers get on the board and left with a 14-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 17-2 back in September.

Westminster gave Elizabeth Flores the start and clearly made the right call: she didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Westminster got a massive performance out of Eva Muniz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That's the most hits Muniz has posted since back in September of 2024. Magaly Santacruz Vasquez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

Westminster always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory snapped Westminster's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-12 record. As for Boulder, they dropped their record down to 0-22 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Westminster will take on rival Mountain Range at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Boulder is set to challenge their familiar foe Brighton at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
