Basketball Game Preview: Torrance Tartars vs. Palos Verdes Sea Kings

The Torrance Tartars will square off against the Palos Verdes Sea Kings at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Torrance is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

On Tuesday, Torrance didn't have too much trouble with Wiseburn- Da Vinci as they won 45-27. Given the Tartars' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Wolves are ranked 797th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Palos Verdes strolled past El Segundo with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 47-28. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sea Kings.

Torrance's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.3 points per game. As for Palos Verdes, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.

Torrance took their victory against Palos Verdes in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 54-32. Will Torrance repeat their success, or does Palos Verdes have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
