Softball Recap: Adams Central Triumphs

Adams Central gave up the first runs on Monday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the Gothenburg Swedes by a score of 4-1. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Swedes, too.

Gothenburg's batters probably weren't too happy with Joshlyn Konen, who pitched a no hitter and racked up seven Ks (she gave up six walks).

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Macie Deines, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Jordyn Pracht was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Adams Central kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Adams Central's win bumped their record up to 7-14. As for Gothenburg, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, Adams Central will take on Kearney Catholic at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Gothenburg has already played their next game (against Chadron), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
