Baseball Game Preview: Calhoun County Cougars vs. Randolph-Clay Red Devils

Calhoun County is 0-7 against Randolph-Clay since March of 2016 but things could change on Monday. The Cougars will head out to take on the Red Devils at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Calhoun County couldn't beat Southwest Georgia STEM Charter on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the second inning. The Cougars came up short against the Aggies, falling 19-7. On the bright side, the seven- run effort marked the Cougars' highest-scoring game to date.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Randolph-Clay's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to Early County, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Bobcats: they've now lost eight in a row.

Randolph-Clay's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Calhoun County, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.

Calhoun County might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Randolph-Clay in their previous meeting back in March of 2025. Can the Cougars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
