Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Morro Bay). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Mendota Aztecs on Friday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Pirates considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Morro Bay's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5-1. As for Mendota, they dropped their record down to 3-7-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Morro Bay will host Cabrillo at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Morro Bay's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Mendota, they will welcome Sierra at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
