Basketball Recap: Beyer Makes It Four in a Row at Home

If Pacheco wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Beyer, they should've done a better job of containing Kylie Kulina. The Beyer Patriots sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 47-45 victory over the Pacheco Panthers on Thursday thanks in part to Kulina, who almost dropped a double-double on 26 points and nine boards. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Beyer's points.

Pacheco's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nikki Nance, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Mary Tava was another key player, putting up 12 points and three blocks.

Beyer's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.5 points per game. As for Pacheco, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-6.

Beyer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 69-46 defeat against Ceres on the 21st. As for Pacheco, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-54 loss against Grace Davis on the 21st.
