Basketball Recap: Juniata Indians vs. Forest Hills Rangers

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Juniata can now relate to. They were dealt a 74-36 defeat at the hands of the Forest Hills Rangers on Wednesday. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 267th, while the Rangers are ranked 126th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Forest Hills to victory, but perhaps none more so than Morgan Gdula, who went 6-for-11 en route to 17 points and six steals. That's the most points Gdula has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aivah Maul, who went 10-for-20 to rack up 22 points and three steals.

Juniata has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-8 record this season. Forest Hills' win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-8.

Juniata does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Forest Hills, they will head out to face off against Penn Cambria at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Penn Cambria is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53 points per game this season.
