If Sultana wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Burroughs, they should've done a better job of containing Jhavmine Ave. The Burroughs Burros enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over the Sultana Sultans on Tuesday thanks in part to Ave, who went 9 of 19 en route to 23 points along with seven boards and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last nine games she's played.
Sultana lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Amyah Jones, who posted eight points in addition to 11 rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayonna Waller, who had 16 points along with seven boards and five steals.
Burroughs has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Sultana, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-10.
