Baseball Recap: Lanier's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Lanier was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Milton Eagles by a score of 7-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Longhorns as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Nicholas Sampona was excellent, scoring three runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He is becoming a predictor of Lanier's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 4-2 (and 2-16 when he doesn't). Zach Diaz was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Lanier's victory bumped their record up to 6-18. As for Milton, the loss snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-13 record.

Lanier will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
