Texas high school football: Week 5 schedule, scores

Weekend slate headlined by No. 9 Westlake traveling to No. 13 Lake Travis.

This week's Texas high school football schedule is headlined by No. 9 Westlake (Austin) taking on No. 13 Lake Travis (Austin) in the Battle of the Lake.

Lake Travis (4-0) holds an 11-6 lead in the series but Westlake (3-0) has won four of the last five battles, including 63-21 in 2021 and 35-20 in 2022.

Another rivalry contest on the books this weekend features No. 25 Rockwall at Rockwall-Heath (Rockwall). Rockwall (3-1) won last year's contest 56-21 but Rockwall-Heath (3-1) owns a 7-6 edge in the series that dates back to 2006.

In other action No. 2 DeSoto travels to undefeated Waxahachie, Clear Springs (League City) hosts No. 22 Dickinson and No. 21 Carthage travels to Bullard in another battle of unbeatens.

Both Clear Springs and Dickinson head into their contest trending upward. Clear Springs has won two straight since starting the season with losses to Katy and Shadow Creek (Pearland). Dickinson has won three straight since falling to No. 3 Atascocita (Humble) in the season-opener.
