Volleyball Game Preview: Lund Mustangs vs. Wells Leopards

The Lund Mustangs will head out on the road to take on the Wells Leopards at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lund is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Lund will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Owyhee, who they had gone 0-8 against in their eight prior meetings. The Mustangs walked away with a 3-1 win over the Braves on Saturday.

Lund had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 25-21, 25-21.

Wells hadn't beaten McDermitt on the road since November 5, 2022 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Leopards sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Bulldogs.

Wells was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-96), but they still managed to win. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 13-25, 25-21, 25-20, 15-12.

Wells' win bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Lund, their victory bumped their record up to 19-9.

Lund took their win against Wells when the teams last played on October 1st by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
