Softball Recap: Sandy Creek Patriots vs. Troup County Tigers
Sandy Creek extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-19. They came up short against the Troup County Tigers, falling 9-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in September.
As for Troup County, they pushed their record up to 12-14 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
For Troup County's part, Gracie Baker was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases Baker has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Cardwell, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Looking ahead, Sandy Creek will host Jonesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Troup County, they will head out on the road to challenge Upson-Lee at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
