Baseball Recap: Westover Comes Up Short

Westover was the 11-8 winner over Monroe when they last played one another last Thursday, but their luck changed this time around. The Patriots fell just short of the Golden Tornadoes by a score of 8-7 on Friday.

Westover's defeat was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Monroe, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 8-13.

Westover does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Monroe, they will square off against Turner County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Titans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.04 runs per game on average), something the Golden Tornadoes will no doubt try to take advantage of.
